TANUH has launched a secure, scalable, AI-enabled Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for healthcare, built to meet the scale and diversity of India's health systems. The platform is built to close the gap between AI models developed in Indian laboratories and AI that is safe to deploy in Indian clinics. It offers open access to microservices, including APIs and open-source tools with on-premises execution, so developers, hospitals, and regulators can work against a shared, auditable standard rather than bespoke, one-off pipelines.
What the platform does
The DPI strengthens collaboration across healthcare providers, insurers, researchers and patients. It transforms unstructured clinical data into structured, actionable information, and brings together:
Automated medical record anonymisation
Interactive forgery detection for document adjudication
Multilingual medical audio summarisation, converting Hindi and Kannada speech into English
Secure by design
Data is processed in real time without retention, and the platform supports secure on-premises deployment, so institutions can meet stringent data protection requirements without sensitive records leaving their premises.
Built on three principles
Open by default: public specifications and documented APIs
Evidence-first: every model is assessed on Indian population data before any claim of clinical readiness
Interoperable: aligned with ABDM and national health data standards
Who it's for
The DPI is open to hospitals, academic groups, startups and public health programmes. It is now live at www.dpi.tanuh.ai
